AYALA Land Inc.’s (ALI) newest mixed-use development Arca South Estate is seen becoming the next premier lifestyle and business destination in the capital once the South Integrated Transport System (ITS) terminal project in Taguig City is completed.

Arca South Integrated Terminal Inc., a fully owned ALI company, will build and operate the South ITS terminal after it won the 35-year concession for the project which is under the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC).

Arca South added that the public who will make use of the terminal will also benefit from the amenities offered by the nearby 74-hectare ARCA South Estate.

Features of the estate include an Ayala Malls lifestyle complex, a six-tower ARCA South Corporate Center, a 265-room Seda Hotel and a Qualimed hospital.

Several residential developments can be also found in the estate, which are being built by Ayala Land subsidiaries such as Ayala Land Premier, Alveo Land and Avida Land.

“It will become a gateway to major locations since it is minutes away from the Makati CBD, Bonifacio Global City and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport,” Arca South said.

ALI project development manager Stephen Comia noted that the Arca South estate will implement an estate management system for transport, traffic, estate security and monitoring.

“ARCA South will be a conducive environment for people to live [in], work, or visit, with all its conveniences and strategic access and links,” Comia said. “The estate management systems will help ensure a lifestyle of efficiencies similar to other premier lifestyle and business destinations,” he added.

The estate will also incorporate green spaces, pedestrian walkways and bicycle lanes to help free up roads.

“With the Skyway/C5-C6 connector road plans underway, and a dedicated ramp that will link motorists and PUVs to the ITS terminal and ARCA South, the development is a budding landmark of convenience and efficiency,” Comia concluded.

The South ITS is a multi-modal terminal that will facilitate organized transfers of an estimated 4,000 buses and 160,000 passengers daily. The terminal will be located in a five-hectare lot within the FTI compound in Taguig, and will be built right beside Arca South, Ayala Land’s newest business and lifestyle district.

Construction is set to commence later this year and is expected to be completed by 2018.
South ITS offers in-city motorists the option to “park and ride” as the can park their private cars within the terminal and travel to their respective destinations via public utility vehicles. The project is expected to “decongest EDSA and potentially ease traffic within the city”.
